I am back in the U.S. for a while. This means that I can't get any work done on my diss. It's like the gnomes who research my diss are divided into two depts.: Deutsche Abteilung and U.S. Dept.
of secondary source research. And the German gnomes only work in Germany, they have some weird union agreement that I wasn't aware of. Well, I'm about to try to read German here in New Jersey. Wish me luck.
I didn't realize how important it is to manage your diss gnomes, I generally let my ex-Nazi scientists handle that. But I'm going to pay more personal attention to it in the future.

Why can't your gnomes from the U.S. Department of SSR work? They can't possibly have some sort of reciprocity with the German gnomes, can they? That's Un-American!
Well, the U.S. SSR gnomes only work on English secondary sources.

Maybe the the actual American gnomes have been laid off. Their jobs were exported to a temp company somewhere in the "third world". The gnomes in Indonesia, India, or Guatemala, are experiencing civil unrest in reaction to US Neo-Imperialist Economic policy...that includes them not being fed the requisite number of gingersnaps to remain healthy working gnomes because they're frightfully underpaid. This accounts for the lag in output on their part. Send them gingersnap care packages through World Vision International by adopting a gnome child...and maybe things will get better. But, probably not. The next gnome generation, properly fed and educated, will rise up against the US and its economic slavery, and you'll be out of some "third world " gnomes. You'll have to wait until new gnomes in poorer places can be located and exploited. It looks rather bleak, but, that's what it takes to go global, baby.
ginger snaps?
I feel like continuing to pay gnomes with ginger snaps in this day and age is demeaning. They want cash like the rest of us. Right?
