A lovely cheese plate

Canoe councelor is here! She came on the airplane yesterday. Right away we bought cheese and arranged a lovely cheese plate. Also, she helped me figure out the weird hot water switcher box in the apartment we are subletting. Well, actually we could not figure it out, but she figured out that we do not need hot water in the shower, we can bathe by filling pots in the sink and pouring the water into the bathtub.

What a councelor.

How very Canadian of her! Though, I think perhaps you should look into getting the hot water turned on in your apartment.

I agree with Tom. You may not be in America, but there is a certain standard of living that you should at least attempt to maintain. Boiling pots of water is well below par.

Ah, I so agree. This may be the subject of a future extensive post on this blog. There's nothing like non-self-lighting gas ovens, boilers, and weird hot-water-heating tanks to make one appreciate self-lighting gas ovens and running hot water. Oh, and non-German toilets, one also appreciates those anew.
