there are many things that commend the stapler as a weapon. It has the capacity to fire projectiles. Staplers are usually fairly weighty and so can be used as a club. And if the target has moved outside of firing range (say 3 inches), then it's compact shape allows it to be hurled with some accuracy.
Well...as we all know from experiments in third grade on the capacity of office supplies to act as weapons, though staplers fire projectiles, the projectiles dont hurt when they hit you. I hope at least that shes got one of those heavy duty ones that can staple 100 pages at once.
